Kid Ginseng / Dextro "Dirt Bass" 12" (Kraftjerkz 03) A newer local label started by Kid Ginseng, the son of Tom Tom Club / Talking Heads members Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth, Kraftjerkz looks to be exciting. Dextro starts things off with a dirty shuffle-y techno number with some guitar samples. Kid Ginseng follows with a faster electro-breaks number along some early breakcore stylings and his own scratching. The flip is a remix of Tom Tom Club's "Wordy Rappinghood" which Ginseng adds some dirty bass and filters too, as well as scratching textures. A solid set of productions from promising younger NYC talent!
